Evil Ex: Jacquie Montgomery

My character for the Scott Pilgrim contest!

I read that Bryan Lee O'Malley was inspired by shounen (boy's) manga for the structure of Scott Pilgrim. Well, I grew up watching and reading nothing but shoujo (girl's) anime and manga, so I decided this series needed a good, strong dose of mahou shoujo (magical girl) I tried to make my character the most stereotypical magical girl I could think of, and placed her inside her own collectible hologram card.

Character Bio:
Jacqueline "Jacquie" Montgomery and Ramona Flowers were childhood friends. Like all good shoujo sidekicks, Jacquie was exceptionally devoted to, and possessive of, Ramona's friendship. One day, while playing outside together, the pair discovered an ancient cave where a heart-shaped scepter had been resting for centuries. Ramona, being the heroine half of this heroine-and-sidekick-type friendship, grabbed the scepter and instantly transformed into Gorgeous Warrior Ramona, destined to collect some cards or banish some monsters or something like that. Upon seeing the costume she was expected to wear, Ramona immediately discarded the scepter and fled the cave, leaving poor Jacquie to accept the fate of becoming a magical girl, an abomination that no Ramona Flowers could ever love.

Jacquie, determined to keep her powers for as long as possible and use them to win back Ramona's love and friendship, has been defeating monsters and collecting cards at a rate of about two per year. Having reached the inappropriate-for-a-magical-girl age of 24, she has finally learned the ultimately powerful "Lovely Heart Incantation" spell. Now the only thing standing between Jacquie and eternal slightly-more-than-platonic friendship with Ramona is Scott Pilgrim.
